Year 1-Number & Place Value

10-Year 1 Place Value Worksheets.

Place Value is a important concept in early years curriculum of Maths. Place value is the value of each digit in a number. For example, the 5 in 750 represents 5 tens, or 50; however, the 5 in 5,006 represents 5 thousands, or 5,000.

A number can be made of more than one digit so we use place value headings, like ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands, to help us understand the value of each digit. e.g. in our above example of 750 0 is in one’s place, 5 is in the tens place and 7 is in the hundred`s place.
